Coffee to Couture: Inro's Stain Remover DIY to Salvage Your Favs
Did you know that the longer you leave a stain, the harder it will be to remove? BUT.. that doesn't mean it's impossible.
This DIY combination stain remover spray tackles about 70 to 80 per cent of common stains (worth trying out, we think!), and the best part is it's SO affordable.
Here’s our secret recipe without any harsh chemical (for your sensitive skin and your beautiful clothes), and they’re just 2 ingredients that you often already have at home.
Ingredients:
white vinegar - 1 cup
clear dishwashing liquid - 3/4 cup
Step 1:
Heat the white vinegar in the microwave for 1 minute, only once when you make them. You do not have to reheat for every use when you spray! Be sure to use 8% white vinegar, which is available in the condiment aisle.
Step 2:
Stir gently to mix the ingredients together.
Step 3:
Pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
Step 4:
Swirl the bottle before each use to ensure the ingredients are well combined.
Pro tips on how to use:
Spray the stain remover directly onto the stain and let it sit for five minutes.
After five minutes, give the stain another spray and gently rub the fabric together. For tougher stains, you can use a soft-bristled toothbrush to scrub the area.
If the garment is washable, soak it in a bucket of cold water with the stain remover for at least 30 minutes. You can leave it overnight for more stubborn stains.
After soaking, sprinkle a bit of bicarbonate of soda on the stain and then launder the garment as usual.
“For extra tough stains that just won’t quit, try placing the garment in direct sunlight after treating it with the stain remover spray. The sunlight helps to further break down the stain, leaving your clothes looking good as new!.”
